Responsibilities and Tasks:

We are now looking for a department manager for Construction & Property Development within the Project Technology unit. The department is newly formed and will gradually grow to over ten employees. It complements the unit's other three departments that provide electrical power expertise within Vattenfall Eldistribution's project operations. Project Technology currently consists of power system specialists in several different areas of expertise and constitutes the technical specialist competence within the project operations, totaling approximately 50 employees today. The departments are operationally responsible for ensuring that technical requirements are met during the planning and execution of facility investments. Employees perform most of their work in our facility projects organized in programs.

As the department manager for Construction & Property Development, you will lead and inspire a department with engaged, motivated, and knowledgeable individuals in property development, architecture, construction technology, and AMA. The department ensures that our investments provide us with the best possible conditions to be Sweden's leading electricity network company.

  • Represent, develop, and continue the implementation of the Construction Technology & Property Development function both internally within the unit and externally within the project operations.
  • Lead a department with the important task of ensuring building rights and construction technical content in our facility projects.
  • Plan, prioritize, and follow up on operations, which includes resource planning and task distribution within our program organization.
  • Drive development issues together with your colleagues in Project Technology and with colleagues from adjacent units, as well as create conditions for effective collaboration.
  • Continuously analyze competence and resource needs and actively work with competence supply and recruitment. The departments will grow in the coming years to match future resource and competence needs.
  • Create strong relationships with both internal and external parties, which is why both the ability and willingness to communicate, collaborate, influence, and develop the business are important.
  • As a member of the unit's management team, you will actively contribute to the development of both the business and the organization.

Requirements Specification

We are looking for someone who is a goal-oriented, down-to-earth, and unpretentious person who is curious and willing to learn. You have a high degree of personal maturity and have established a grounded credibility in your leadership, built on both business insight and leadership experience. It is important that you care about workplace safety and understand the importance of security as we build critical infrastructure. Workplace safety and security are central to everything we do.

It is natural for you to adapt your leadership style to the situation by daring to give employees the space to make decisions in their own work, based on the business's goals and requirements. When necessary, you have the ability to make quick decisions even when access to information is limited.

You are driven to develop both people and new working methods and have the ability to inspire and make your employees grow and feel engaged in their work together with colleagues within the company.

Other Experience:

  • Broad experience in the construction industry. Of particular importance are development issues, planning work, architecture, project management, contract law, and construction technology.
  • Experience in business development.
  • Experience and ability to work in larger organizations, which require a process-oriented approach.
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
  • Relevant academic education and experience in leadership.
  • Documented skills in business and goal management, preferably from the construction industry.
  • Driver's license: class B.

Meritorious are:

  • Documented experience in project operations within the construction industry.
  • Documented experience in development projects in the early stages and in implementation phases.
